Karachi, Pakistan, August 13, 2015 – The spirit of independence reflects the greatest amongst the youth of the nation and this certainly stands true for when Vice-President and CEO of ‘The Akram Foundation’, Shaniera Akram visited the ‘Jinnah University for Women in Karachi, Pakistan for the very first time.
Received with warmth, flowers and prayers, Shaniera Akram arrived at the premises at 11:30 AM and was over-whelmed by the love displayed by the students and the faculty members. The celebrations were preceded by a tour of the 4 faculties, consisting of 28 departments. Projects prepared by students adorned the halls and Shaniera Akram was provided with an overview of the various academic programs. She was also presented with a handmade clutch especially from the students of the fashion design department which she holds dearly and added to her collection.
The tour was followed by a cake cutting ceremony where Shaneira Akram together with cricket stars Sarfaraz Ahmed and Anwar Ali delivered their sentiments over the microphone. Shaniera Akram and ‘The Akram Foundation’ presented the university with a signed jersey from Wasim Akram and declared a special scholarship for the students both in graduation and post-gradation programs.
The chancellor and vice chancellor of the University presented Shaneira Akram with a memento and officially pronounced the foundation’s association with the university. ‘The Akram Foundation’ is honoured to support such brilliant, and beyond-belief commitment of Wajihuddin Ahmed the chancellor and his team towards such an exemplary institution.
